The Dooley group specializes in heterogeneous catalysis and the reactor design/operation of catalytic processes. It works closely with the Mike Janik group (Penn St.), the Dan Shantz group (Tulane), the Oz Gazit and Gideon Grader groups (the Technion), and the Anurag Manadalika, Craig Plaisance, Dorin Boldor Roger Laine and Mike Benton groups at LSU. Current funded projects are:
BIRD Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development Foundation, “Safe, sustainable, and resilient development of offshore reservoirs and natural gas upgrading through innovative technology”
NSF-CBET, “Collaborative Research: “The role of oxide overlayers on adsorbate migration and metal sintering in reactions of CO2”
NSF-PFI, “Chemical Synthesis of a Natural Product Family of Compounds with Uses as Insect Repellents, Especially for Deer Ticks”
Mosaic LLC, “Single pass ammonia synthesis using absorption refrigeration cycle,”
LSU Institute for Energy Innovation, “Sustainable Aviation/Maritime Fuels from Biomass Residues in Louisiana”
Louisiana FUEL (an NSF ENGINE), “Adsorption-based chemical looping process for production of H2 and SO2 from H2S”
